Mt Whitney Zone Forums General Discussion Best Route (Fastest) from Bay Area to the Eastern Sierra

When I lived in Sunnyvale, I would sometimes go Stockton-Jackson-88-395. Good road. Can't vouch for how long it took when compared to US 80-50-89-88-395. On the Whitney Store forum I described a Summer alternative, but it probably isn't the easiest to navigate for a first-timer in the area.
