Not sure if a suunto device is required as I only encountered it once I’d bought a suunto watch, but my impression from going to the site on a clean browser profile is that it’s free for anyone to register.
It does topo and aerial views, tho irritatingly once you start planning a route you can’t switch view (at least I haven’t found out how if it is possible!).
