Very nice descriptions. I may have to keep those two mountains in mind for my next trek through the Japan Alps. Although, I'd probably do muti-day hikes and make use of the huts as I did last year.
BTW, Lonely Planet has an English book called "Hiking in Japan" that I found very useful in finding starting points, routes, huts, and other good info during my planning.
