Thanks for the info, when you've started at Portal, what were the temps like in the middle of the night?
We have 5 summit hikes and 1 attempt. Temps are all over the place. Some trips were shorts and T shirts at midnight. On others hikes, small puddles of water were frozen solid. Carry multiple layers so you are ready for anything. One of the trailhead boards has summit pictures taken two hours apart. One is clear and sunny. The other is a white out blizzard.
