we needed electrolytes. Basically salt. I have an electrolyte, energy powder that I use with cycling called Scratch. (there are a dozen other similar products) That would have made a world of difference. Or just some soy sauce or salt packets would have helped.
I love salt so I snack on pretzels, sesame sticks, jerky, nuts etc. when on the trail. Will make sure I'm fully stocked, thanks for the info.
