This is because it is not a spring: it is daily melt from the snowfield directly above the trail, but out of view. It appears to be be a spring because it runs under the talus, but it flows only on the surface. I drink everything completely unfiltered, so this makes no difference to me, but for thosewho might differentiate between surface water and a spring: this is not a spring.
