J, good luck! Unfortunately, when someone releases a permit, it doesn't become available immediately. Recreation.gov makes it available online sometime in the next 24 hours.
So all you can do is keep watching -- set it up as your
"home" bookmark, so you can check it often.
I see that there are two single day hike slots online right now, 7/14 and 7/27.
