I'm so glad I came across your message - I actually have an extra permit (my friend had to cancel last minute due to a surfing accident) and I am actually looking for someone else to do the Whitney day hike this Thursday 9/24. Are you still interested? I was about to cancel my plans because I wasn't sure if I could find someone else last minute - please let me know! 2am start time sounds perfect, though I'd be interested in trying to be back before sundown, if possible.
