If you know of another, less expensive, means of having resupplies delivered to the JMT at the Bishop Pass Jct (outside of having a very nice friend or family member do it for you), I would appreciate the information.

Yes, another suggestion. There are several guide services on the Eastside. I would be fairly certain that a guide on a day off from a trip might be willing to carry your 10# over for a considerable amount less. They could legally do that on their special use permit.
Individuals have had problems doing this in the past, in terms of the USFS, which hassled them for potentially doing a commercial sevice without a commercial permit. Since they did it for free, they were ok. (they were helping a buddy out).
