Well in this case I didn't expect it to be as bas as it was. I had heard that creek can be a bit brushy in spots but not too bad. Also I seemed to miss the part where no one ever climbs around lake Eleanor and goes from there. They all drop into that creek much further up! All this trouble is what made me change more routes. Instead of going over Styx Pass I was going to cut cross country there and come out at Kibbie Lake but I had no idea what sort of terrain it was so I was not taking the chance of going back into it. This is also the same reason I did not go up Frog Creek on section 2. It was just too early in the trip for such hard hiking!
Later in this trip I went down Cartridge Creek and it wasn't so bad because I was in shape and just knew what to expect.
As for mapping that does seem like a nice site. You can zoom in on my maps on FlickR but you need to go to the full size image and as long as your browser does not have automatic image resize on it should be huge.
