Oh, I wasn't saying that I wanted to do that, I was just a little annoyed by the timing of everything. Mom had a checkup on the 17th (at which we were told we had 2-3 weeks left), so everyone figured I was good to go on the trip. The group was in Lone Pine getting ready for bed on the 19th when I got the call (around 4pm), so one of the guys had to drive me half way home instead of sleeping/preparing for the hike.
Thanks for the info on the permits. I'll keep an eye out for them.
