Great TR. I've always wanted to go fishing out there and take a more relaxed pace sometimes.
Sucks about some people acting like a big giant wilderness belongs to them alone. I've met some strange people on trail before, but never one who dressed up as a lion. Saw a couple once dressed in all white running around literally hugging and kissing trees.
Sucks about the wag bags. Looks like the situation is getting worse by the day. Last time I was up there, the ranger at the desk told me that they would be checking both permits and making sure everyone had a wag bag on hand, either used or unused.
Dayhikes are easy...you don't have to lug around big heavy packs.
