How did this become a picureshowandtell? Whiskey or beer sounds nice, but not on the summit. I've had bad luck with that.
To bring it back to the permit subject: let's suppose I'm leading a friend or two up the MR this summer, and they don't have permits yet for overnights in the North Fork. Odds of getting walk-in same-day early mornin permits on a weekend? Not that good I'd guess? So many question marks?
