Mt Whitney Zone Forums General Discussion Meysan Lake to Irvine/McAdie/Mallory

I guess I'll have to play the road thing by ear. I'd rather not have to tack on that extra distance/gain to my climb - I feel like it will be a challenge enough as it is. Fingers crossed.

After looking at some more photos and maps of the area, I think I'd be better off camping near Meysan Lake (just south of), and then heading up Mallory first to McAdie, then a possible Irvine summit to traverse over and down the East Chute back to camp. It seems to make more sense. Has anyone been up to Irvine or Mallory from this direction recently?

Edit: From the looks of things, perhaps we should change this to a car-rental board instead of a mountaineering board. Seems to be a lot more knowledge on Enterprise than there is on winter routes/camping in the Sierras. Yikes! =)
