Not so much Whitney specific, but I'm obviously in need of some training advice.

In recent years, I've been able to stay in reasonably good shape year round by hiking and doing a LOT of mountain and road biking. This year, with the birth of our first child and my becoming a stay at home Dad by day, working man by night, my time has become much more limited. We get to the gym a couple of times a week, but I'm looking for some advice on what you guys do at home to keep in shape. Most importantly, on a limited budget. I'd love to buy some fancy equipment to work out with, but I just don't have the cash.

Any advice for me? I can only do so many push ups and exercises for my abs to keep my core strong, what can I do cardio wise?

One day I'd like to hike the entire John Muir Trail and not leave a single footprint. -Randy Morgenson
