I met them in 2010 when she did the JMT and demoralized my kids who up to then thought they were among the youngest to do the Muir, but now at 8/9 years old she upped the ante:

I am totally blown away! That had to require incredible, steadfast concentration, organization and strength for them to go the entire distance. Wow!

BTW, the link to the blogspot on the Sierrawave site doesn't work, but this does:

especially after she broke her femur a few months before the Muir Trail hike while skiing some killer hills in Mammoth....

She had so much energy at the end of the day, she showed us all her workout routines from physical education class. We walked with them from Silver Pass to Evolution Lake and move on from there.

OK, I have a daughter named Sierra and she's an amazing hiker, but this little Sierra takes the cake and eats it for breakfast. What an achievement. What's next?

What's next? Just found this... they did the Colorado Trail this summer.

Met Sierra's grandma Connie on the JMT two weeks ago (that now makes it three JMT's in a row I run into her!), and she told me about Sierra's plan to do the Continental Divide and the Appalachian Trail next year (has to first figure out how to take a year off school for that).

Done with all the big trails before age 11 or so...
